Today the weather in Capraia turned very bad - it's cold and raining but hopefully it will brighten up by tomorrow.
The sea is also very rough today which means that it will be colder than normal in the sea.
Yesterday the dead weights were dropped onto the sea floor and today we are going to start the archaeological work. We've already found lots of ceramic plates and cups, all with a black glaze which have all been on the sea floor since 200BC!
Capraia is a very rocky island with lots of vegetation and colour.

A new research project in Tuscany has just began.
The Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici della Toscana invited ProMare to take part to the preliminary investigations of a second century B.C. shipwreck that carried a cargo of black-glazed pottery and Graeco-Italic amphoras. The site is located at 18 m of depth, on a sandy seafloor spot, in the middle of a thick prairy of posidonia oceanica.
