Peter Holt BEng is the project manager for ProMare UK and visiting research fellow at the University of Plymouth School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences. He is an experienced project manager with 20 years experience in the offshore industry as systems architect for Sonardyne International Ltd., designing underwater positioning systems for ROVs and divers.
He is also runs 3H Consulting Ltd., a maritime archaeology consultancy company with particular expertise in surveying, shipwreck recording and geophysics. Peter also developed the Site Recorder information management software used on maritime archaeology projects all over the world.
Peter has managed a number of archaeology projects in the UK, was survey manager for the recent excavations on the Mary Rose and Vliegent Hart, and has participated in excavations and survey work on more than 20 sites in the UK, USA, Turkey, South Africa, the Caribbean and Mauritius. He has written a number of papers on surveying, geophysics and data management and has contributed to a number of books. He is a an occasional lecturer at the Universities of Plymouth and Bristol, a NAS Senior Tutor and regional co-ordinator for NAS South West and holds an HSE part IV diving qualification.
